Delivering Reliable Energy and Economic Benefits to Navajo County
The Cygnus Energy Project is a proposed 400-megawatt (MW) solar plus 400 MW battery storage project providing flexibility to deliver reliable energy during peak power needs. The project is expected to be operational by the end of 2028 and will bring significant long-term economic benefits to the county, create local jobs, and increase investments in local schools and county services. Construction is expected to start in 2027 and operations to begin in 2028.
Project Map
The Cygnus Energy Project is located on approximately 3,000 acres of privately owned land about 10 miles north of the town of Snowflake in Navajo County.

Local Economic Benefits
The Cygnus Energy Project will generate ~ $17M in tax payments to Navajo County over the project’s 35-year operational life. During construction, the project will create ~500-600 jobs at peak construction and 5 long-term jobs for project operations.
The Cygnus project will also contribute $600K to community organizations and projects, working collaboratively with community leaders to identify areas that will bring the most benefit to residents of Navajo County. The project will provide significant long-term tax revenue, family-wage jobs, increased funding for the local school system and improved county services for 35 years.

Community Engagement and Responsible
Development, Construction and Operations
Responsible Development
The Cygnus Solar and Storage team members are committed to responsible development, construction and operations over the project-life time with the community and environment foremost in mind.
- Solar panels emit minimal noise with no emissions
- Once operational, the project will be a passive use of the land
- Land will be stabilized and re-seeded, allowing the land to regenerate and the soils to rest
Environmental protection measures to minimize impact include:
- Wildlife and livestock movement corridors
- Wildlife friendly fencing with a 6-8” gap at the bottom to allow for movement
- Native vegetation and/or pollinator species

Community Engagement
We are arriving in this community to build and work for decades to come. Therefore, a stakeholder-first approach is essential for us. Developing meaningful relationships with local organizations, schools, and community members and understanding the community's priorities alongside ours is key to everyone's success.
We are transparent in our communication and highly responsive to feedback throughout the life of the project. We are committed to collaborating with community members to identify areas that will bring the most benefit to residents of Navajo County.
